Change Management on a National Scale...

If you've ever been through the Prosci #changemanagement course you know that if you don't tap into people's #DESIRE for change, then you can move ahead in the ADKAR (awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, reinforcement) process. 

I presented on change #leadership a few weeks ago, and was looking for a clear illustration of ADKAR in action. 


I didn't have to look very far...


As those in #Canada know, we've been dealing with a few "activities" in our orbit that have prompted a few changes of our own, including our shopping habits. Honestly, I've never seen so much label-reading in my life!


Why? Well it really comes down to DESIRE. This existential outside threat has catapulted us out of complacency. 


We know why we need to buy Canadian (awareness ), want to for multiple reasons (desire), are using apps and Facebook groups to figure out the differences between product of Canada, made in Canada, etc. (knowledge), getting support from store product placement and maple leaf tags (ability) and celebrating online every time we see empty Canadian product shelves next to untouched products from a certain global superpower (reinforcement).
